Outreach Staff Trainings

FHSI will be presenting a series of training intensives in order to share outreach strategies for maximizing the benefits of the Texas Migrant Care Network. Participants will learn about the requirements of the program and will practice techniques for providing effective education to farmworker families and assist them in navigating the Texas Migrant Care Network. At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

• Understand what the Texas Migrant Care Network is and how it functions


• Describe basic eligibility categories of the Texas Migrant Care Network


• Describe covered benefits of the Texas Migrant Care Network


• Develop an outreach strategy for reaching farmworkers with information about the Texas Migrant Care Network


• Assist families in accessing care through the Texas Migrant Care Network when traveling out of state

Training intensives will take place at the following conferences:

• East Coast Migrant Stream Forum, Providence Baltimore Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, October 23-25, 2008


• Midwest Migrant Stream Forum, Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, November 19-22, 2008


• Western Migrant Stream Forum , Hilton San Diego/Del Mar, San Diego, California, January 23-25, 2009
