FHSI trainings offer innovative strategies that our clients use to increase access to health care services, reduce health disparities, and provide quality, seamless care to farmworkers and their families. Our trainings are designed to give organizations the skills and tools needed to implement effective outreach programs aimed at farmworkers. FHSI offers customized site-specific and regional trainings. Participants receive training manuals and materials, certificates of completion, and continuing education credits when applicable.

FHSI Training Curricula:
FHSI curricula are based on 37 years of experience in the farmworker health field and rooted in adult and health education principles. To guarantee quality assurance, FHSI curricula are piloted with and evaluated by external parties working in farmworker health outreach and education. FHSI trainings include:
 COCHE™ (Curriculum for Outreach Centered Health Education) – Teaches health organization staff to conduct effective health education that empowers farmworkers to play an active role in their health.
 Cultural Competence in Health Outreach – Allows participants to explore various cultural challenges in working with farmworker populations from language differences to traditional health beliefs.
 Coordinating Farmworker Health Outreach Programs – Delves in-depth into how to plan and evaluate outreach programs, including staff supervising, data collection methodologies, and time management.
 Identifying and Verifying Farmworker Health Needs – Defines community needs assessment parameters, including farmworker appropriate data collection methods, conducting data analysis and using information obtained to plan and provide services to farmworkers.
 Outcome Evaluation – Provides a step-by-step process for evaluating program outcomes, enabling organizations to effectively measure results of their efforts in serving farmworkers.
 COCHEcito – Outlines a comprehensive outreach services model and health education curriculum specializing in reaching farmworker children ages 0-5 years. COCHECito discusses health education and promotion, child development and learning, parent involvement, planning, implementation, and evaluating the educational program.
